Wood smoke stories from the United Kingdom

United Kingdom stories
Two years ago we replaced [our wood burner] with a more modern, easy to use and, we thought, more eco friendly one.
We are both constantly suffering from asthma and chest infections that never clear up.
My story does not involve wood smoke, but fumes from the burning of a so called smokeless fuel.
Even when I am in the house I experience the symptoms because the smoke penetrates the house…
The smoke comes into my house even with the windows and doors closed.
The heavy dense smell of wood smoke pervades everything. I used to love this smell but now I struggle to breathe…
…my then 12-year old daughter who is asthmatic couldn’t breathe and her inhaler made no difference…
These wood burning stoves… are not just a nuisance but a danger…
…both our back and front gardens are filled with thick, acrid smoke that makes your eyes sting and your throat sore.
