Wood Smoke Stories

A prisoner inside my home

I am a prisoner inside my home due to wood heater and outdoor wood oven smoke especially at night. There are at least 8 houses with wood heaters within 1 kilometre of my home.

My next door neighbour has two outdoor portable garden ovens which he positioned right beside our fence close to the door of my main living area. I can smell the smoke inside my house which causes my eyes to burn and I frequently cough. The neighbour uses these ovens at least 3 times a week and they smoulder all weekend.

My property is on a 300 square metre block and my neighbour’s block is about the same size, so we are basically on top of each other. The same neighbour also has a fire pit. I have had several discussions with my neighbour but he doesn’t care and no longer speaks to me.

I have made a complaint to my council and am waiting for a reply.
